Our community has many wonderful people with years of experience and a wide range of skills, but many are trapped at home or tied up to limited transport options. How can we help them become more mobile if they wish to get involved with activities and/or volunteer?

How about asking people to nominate their neighbours if they know they are looking for more things to do with their time?

We could connect people in a form of 'buddy scheme' where volunteers with transport start their hours by collecting those unable to travel?

Do we need to survey the interest in volunteering and the skills those people have first? It might be that their skills could be used in their own homes.
